Bird Whisperer
I dreamed
you were a polar bear
but I know that you’re an owl
The Arctic beast
with unique genes
solitary
secret power
I know, I see
your keen instincts
your frequency
your tendencies—
nocturnal
You pass along your wisdom
unseen in some conditions
you need your space
dance not for fame
but for love
and song
and purpose
You are one of those
who adapts to change
rare to find
and intriguing
You saw my light
and called to me,
clapping your wings
into the night
hanging in the wind—
you dive down past
into the grass—
I accept the dance
I let you in
