Welcome to another Poem of the Week here at Twilight Letters. Today, I'm sharing a thoughtful excerpt from Part II: Dreams and Undulations in Cori Lark's collection Electric Ink: Writings of Cori Lark. This piece feels like a quiet moment of soul-searching—raw, honest, and full of yearning for higher awareness. It's not traditional verse but prose poetry that invites deep pondering.

—Cori Lark
"I want to reach a new level of psychic existence . . . I am not a philosopher, but a ponderer. I'm a student striving to be an artist, a dreamer trying to live in reality, soul searching and waiting . . . If art is imitation, then it models the tangibles and intangibles, but there is more . . . it seeks truth, yet there is more . . . it reaches a level of greater consciousness, to see or hear AND to feel, to feel."

What resonates most with me is the distinction between pondering and philosophizing—it's humble and relatable. As someone who finds magic in words, I love how Cori describes art's evolution: beyond imitation to truth-seeking, then to a fuller sensory and conscious experience. It reminds me of the transformative power of poetry and journaling—tools for bridging the seen and unseen.
