While you circle the skies
While you watch and wait
Wondering if I’m worthy
I tread above clear waves
While you dive down
for your draft of fish
your blessings incognizant
I flute and flutter good wishes
While you swoop from thunderbolts
drowning out my florid notes
Your focus wisped away
I’ll cast a spell to calm your storm
and bring you to this shore.
We will ponder the horizon—
as stellar streams are shifting—
Until a new sun rises
and we transform into a griffin!
