(Poem of the Week)

from part IV Alfresco Activities, Corina

IV-1

I wait to be unfettered—

free from scars embedded in my soul.

Unbodied in twilight

dipping in flight

past centuries

without a map

I’ll fly

toward my ancestors’ reverence

inside a sunrise

coral corridors

chastely sublime

bestowing a path

luring the wild

Sacred surrender

Hallowed arrival

Let me swim in your presence

in naked, natural . . .

lift me to heaven

to the water’s crown

blue jewels shining

across anchored realms.
