I’ve never really been into “the hipe.” New fashions, new music, new books, new TV shows etc. do not have me jumping to the store to buy them. Even when I was younger, that kind of thing has always been a turn-off to me. Perhaps it was my way of insisting on my individuality or rebelling against the mind control of advertising and media. I listen and observe all the while waiting until I truly feel interested in checking things out. I go with my flow until it feels like it’s the right time to listen to that album or read that book or check out that program, or . . . write that review. This is why you will read book reviews on Twilight Letters after they have been out on the shelves for awhile.
This is also a way to keep the books alive. The classics remain, but what about the underdogs? What about those authors who published great works which didn’t make it “to the top” not because they aren’t excellent writers but because they didn’t have the right agent, or the money to promote their work? We could be missing out on reading great stories! These writers should have a few fans who are willing to share their interests. Sometimes people can succeed by word-of-mouth alone. Sometimes God sends them an angel to help. Sometimes they aren’t even noticed until after they’re dead.
So, I am considering doing some reading of self-published authors and reviewing them here. In the meantime, you might see some book reviews of old books or new ones here on TwilightLetters.com. Whatever flows . . .
For now check out Celia Blake on Smashwords.
In the spirit of promoting self-published authors, I would also like to announce the Smashwords Summer / Winter Sale!
Smashwords celebrates summer in the Northern Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere by placing over 100,000 e-books on sale. This is a global, month-long indie culture joy fest, connecting indie authors with voracious readers who love indie books! The sale period runs in July.
I’m excited to announce that Twilight Letters’ featured author, Celia Blake, is sometimes included as part of the promotion. This is a chance to get her books, along with books from many other great authors, at a discount (and some stories for FREE) so you can get right to reading.
If you’re interested in short stories for children, check out her collection A-Z Bedtime Stories.
If you’d like to encourage your pre-teen to read more, send her this fantasy novel: The Guardian of the Well.
If you’d like your teenage daughter to learn some valuable life lessons, send her this fantasy novel: The Bard of Wild Rose.
If you’re an adult interested in politics in the form of epic, nautical fiction, check out Celia’s short story, titled, Exposed. Free in July.
Also, Celia’s romantic short stories:

If you are interested in short story that is spiritual in nature about a special little boy in the city, check out The Kid. It’s one of Celia’s best stories!
Please share with friends and family.
Thank you for your help. And thank you for supporting the underdogs!
Happy reading!
