Continuing our dive into the enchanting world of Cori Lark's Electric Ink: Writings of Cori Lark, here's the third excerpt from Part II: Dreams and Undulations. This piece pulses with rhythm—almost like a bedtime symphony that blurs the line between dreaming and waking, passion and peace. It's full of vivid, flowing imagery that feels both intimate and cosmic.

8/98
In sleep and in wake
Parnassian syncopation
Trails through my brain
Beat bedtime melodies
I cannot evade
Thoughts of you
Xanadu
I fade away
In Lavish abstraction
Fever and passion
Hangs on
Me, dreaming
Melodic abstraction
Rapid rocking
Sound knocking
I clutch comfort
Near indigo orchards
You kindle, coordinate
Direct expression
Unlock our gate
Manage rhythms
Unique
Like yoga dance down
In a vaporous rate
An alternative jingle
Gradual pace
Zodiac music
Celestial spheres
Join us
Employ us
With time’s
Many years.
I will
Dream with a quill
And a beat
Near willow trees
And Fancy greens.
Electric Ink © 2003 Cori Lark. From Dreams and Undulations (Part II). Excerpt 3 shared with permission for Twilight Letters.

What draws me in is the musical layering: "Parnassian syncopation," "beat bedtime melodies," "zodiac music," "celestial spheres"—it turns personal longing into a symphony of the universe. The shift from feverish passion to gentle, eternal dreaming (with a quill and beat near willow trees) feels restorative, like surrendering to inspiration's flow. Cori's work often feels like a bridge between the earthly and the ethereal, and this excerpt captures that magic perfectly.
If these rhythms resonate—stirring thoughts of love, dreams, music, or cosmic connection—explore the full collection. It's a beautiful journey through consciousness, creativity, and undulating emotions.
