Let’s say you did the work, know your purpose, and are on a path you believe is meant for you. That's wonderful! We should, however, keep in mind that spiritual work is continuous, not something that you do for a period in your life, and then you’re a pro, good to go, and everything will always be alright.
You could be saved by grace through faith. It is an amazing experience, a glorious thing, to be aware of God's grace. And all is well—because you trust in the Lord.
You could be awakened through an epiphany or through self-education and meditations. You have come a long way—you are an over-comer!
There are many ways people come to enlightenment. Keep in mind, though, that we live in the world, and the world will challenge us. Like ocean waves ebb and flow, so does life. We will need to remind ourselves of our faith, we may discover there are some things we have not yet conquered, or new traumas may appear with which we need to deal. Trying times, or choices we’ve made, can and will lower our vibration. And that’s okay. We can, however, raise it back up. We can also learn how to hold our high frequency during the trying times or around the lower frequencies. The best way to do this is through awareness in the moment, acceptance in the moment, being in the stillness within. We can also focus on the positive. We know when to remove ourselves from the presence of disruption. We can sometimes even change the disruptions. To sum it up, to hold a high frequency is to live in peace. By this I mean peace in our hearts. It might not be seen, but it is there.

Some people, like first-lifers, do spiritual work and grow into empathy. Others are born sensitive and do spiritual work in order to live with their empathy and use it for good. When high frequencies match, it can be wonderful. If your frequency is low, and you’re around others with higher frequencies, it can be annoying. If your frequency is high, and you’re around others with lower frequencies, it can be torture.
It takes time to learn how to be around low frequency. You could use visualization techniques, such as imagining yourself in an egg you can see out of but which has a mirror on the outside, to repel what comes toward you. You could use crystals to ground yourself in such moments. You can know when it is time for you to withdraw yourself from the negative energy around you.
It takes even more time to be able to extend your high frequency to others. In the moment, we can offer this uplifting to others through acceptance and love. In the long term, we can do this through acceptance, love, action and prayer. No matter what, if you are putting out a high frequency, you are giving good to the world, you are raising the vibration of the world.
Keeping that in mind, and realizing that we constantly have choices to make, it is important to note that there are light empaths and dark empaths. Both can drift into shades of gray.
Light empaths have the ability to stay focused on the good. They get their energy from love, from nature, from God. They are aware of energy suckers. Dark empaths will use their ability for their own means. For instance, they may use it to boost their egos or manipulate others in order to get what they want.
Certain things may cause us to drift into the gray. For example, greed, fear, and guilt. Or, simpler things, like too much alcohol in the system, not enough sunlight, poor diet. The trials and tribulations of life will happen. We want to stay in the flow during the ebb. We do this by following the guidance we are given during that time. This guidance can come in the form of the Holy Spirit, paying attention to the signs, intuition, and connectedness to your higher self.

There are things you can do to raise your vibration or hold your high frequency. I’ve already mentioned a few, such as taking a step back from drama that is harmful to your mental well-being, and prayer.
You can also:
Detox your body by fasting or eating detoxifying foods such as:
Red grapes, guava, strawberries, blueberries, cranberries, raspberries, cherries, grapefruit, apples, watermelon, pineapple, and papaya.
Avocado, tomatoes, carrots, cucumbers, beets, leafy greens, dandelion greens, spinach, sea vegetables, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, okra, artichokes, eggplant, onion, red bell peppers, sweet potatoes, red reishi mushrooms, beans, lentils, and legumes.
Chili peppers, walnuts, whole grains, olive oil, flax seed, cayenne pepper, wheatgrass, barley grass, garlic, oregano, and turmeric.
As well as drinking lemon water and/or coconut water.
Cook yourself a beautiful, healthy meal, or do so with someone else. For help with deciding which foods you should buy which are organic, check out The Clean Fifteen and The Dirty Dozen.
Eat slowly and with gratitude.
Detox your environment using palo santo sticks or sage.
Sound therapy can also be used to detox the body, mind and environment. YouTube is a good source for many things, such as the 741 Hz Solfeggio Frequency. It also has many guided meditations, which brings me to the next item on this list.
Doing shadow work such as journaling, or through meditation. You can research meditation on your own or take advantage of the many free guided meditations and frequency sounds which can be found on YouTube. I like The Meditative Mind Channel.
Feng shui your home. It is a philosophy that examines how to live in harmony with the natural world. You can bring this harmony into your home by arranging your furniture in this style. Also, cleaning (with natural cleaners), as well as organizing your cupboards and closets, can bring a peaceful energy into your environment.
Minimize toxins (use preventive measures or go natural whenever possible, like when deweeding your yard or when you have a snack).
Detox from your electronics: put that phone in a drawer for a few hours, stay away from your computer.
Yoga, stretching or exercise.
Visit a chiropractor, balance your chakras (guides also available on various YouTube Channels).
Walk in nature (love nature), soak your feet in that river. Hug that tree (but watch out for spiders #respect).
Put your hands in the dirt! Do some gardening or yard work.
Breathing exercises.
Open your bible or watch a sermon.
Pamper yourself with a long bath, or make yourself up and wear a pretty dress or comfortable yet stylish daycloths.
Drink water!
Get some sun, or purchase a light therapy lamp.
Play with your pet.
Drink some sleepy time tea and get a good night’s rest.
Do something nice for someone.
Focus on the things you are grateful for and give thanks in prayer.
Do the basics (taking care of yourself by practicing good hygiene, eating, working, napping, doing chores) with love.
